Yoga can be thought of as an ancient body-oriented therapy. The word “yoga” means “to yoke” or “bring together” – so a goal of yoga is to peacefully reconnect the body with the mind.
Denise brings the yogic techniques of mindfulness, movement, breath, and meditation to support the health and healing of the whole person. Through yoga, students practice finding balance and flexibility, both physical and mental. They learn to accept and meet their body and mind as they are while simultaneously challenging themselves to grow, change, and build strength. Yoga helps achieve relaxation, enjoyment in body sensations, and a sense of inner peace.
Denise completed her 200-hour RYT training at Nourishing Heart Yoga. She has been fortunate to learn from talented teachers, including Erich Schiffman, Rodney Yee, Judith Lasater, Amanda McMaine, Diane Thayer, and Matece Skow. Her yoga practice is also greatly influenced by her Gestalt training and Feldenkrais experiences.
Denise has been a student of yoga for over 25 years and a teacher of yoga for over 20 years. Her teaching specialties include: Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Neurogenic Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Denise says, “Yoga is about the relationship you have with yourself ultimately. Seeing yourself with soft eyes, meeting yourself exactly as you are today, and getting on the mat anyways.”
